Encasement’s pipe boxing is the best in the long run for Salix Homes
More than 4000 metres of Riva pipe boxing from Encasement has been used by multi award winning social housing provider, Salix Homes, during an extensive refurbishment and upgrading programme at two 16-storey tower blocks in Salford.
All 182 flats at 1960s high rise Riverbank and Newbank Towers, have benefitted from a range of improvements to bring them up to the government’s Decent Homes Standard, including new kitchens, bathrooms, windows and doors, as well as the latest energy efficient heating systems.
With the upgrade to the heating systems, Salix Homes chose to conceal the heating pipework with Encasement’s pre-formed plywood pipe boxing, which is also pre-finished in a durable white melamine, making it easy to clean and resistant to damage.
In addition to providing an attractive and consistent finish throughout the improvement programme, Encasement’s Riva pipe boxing can also be fitted in less than half the time of site made boxing and doesn’t need painting, which saves even more time for the installer on-site.
Martin Taylor, Encasement’s Managing Director, commented: “Riva pipe boxing and its accessories range is the preferred choice for a range of social housing providers along with our boiler casings, which are already installed in countless projects across the UK. Salix Homes also improved the external appearance of the buildings with contemporary coloured cladding and this attention to detail has been carried through to the high quality finish inside each flat.”
