Linstone Housing Association gets a perfect finish from Encasement

Linstone Housing Association’s recently opened office at Linwood in Renfrewshire is using a range of ‘Circa’ and ‘Forma’ column casings from Encasement, to conceal interior and exterior structural steelwork while helping create an aesthetic finish to the building’s contemporary design.

The purpose built office is located on the new Linwood Town Centre complex, adjacent to Tesco and the nearby Phoenix Retail Park and provides a centre for all of the housing association’s activities in the region including the management of its 1570 properties.

All 32 column casings are 550mm diameter and were manufactured, supplied and installed by Encasement with 19 PPC coated Forma aluminium column casings, each standing 3000mm high, being used to conceal the building’s external structural steelwork.

For the interior, Encasement’s ‘Circa’ preformed plywood column casings were used, ranging in height from 2700mm to 4100mm, which are finished in a durable laminate capable of resisting scuffs and damage in busy areas and high traffic applications.

Encasement’s MD, Martin Taylor, said: “It is more common for us to supply housing associations with our pre-formed pipe boxing and boiler pipe casings for use in their own properties, so the opportunity to supply and install our column casings for the new office building is a little unusual, even though our Forma and Circa casings are widely used in countless projects from commercial, residential and retail through to education, hotels and public buildings.”
