Dover housing development turns to Encasement for boiler pipe casing solutions
Pre-formed and pre-finished boiler pipework casings from Encasement are helping provide the finishing touch to the boiler installations at a key new homes development in Kent.
Located at Whitfield in Dover, ‘Archer’s Place’ is a major development of well over 200 new homes, which has been constructed in three phases including 1, 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes in the first two phases as well as a range of different styles of two-bedroom apartments in phase three.
As the apartments are finished to a high standard and a number of styles incorporate a compact central heating combi-boiler located in the kitchen, the housebuilders chose to conceal the boiler pipework with pre-formed and pre-finished boiler pipework casings from Encasement.
The one-piece boiler pipe casings used in the apartments are designed to fit within the standard boiler dimensions to provide an attractive and integrated finish to the boiler installation by concealing pipe work and valves, while also being easy to wipe clean, due to the melamine finish and easily removable for access to controls or for maintenance.
Encasement’s Managing Director, Martin Taylor, explained: “This is typical of the type of projects that we get involved with, especially where boilers are sited in kitchens, for example, for ease of access. On this project, the housebuilder was able to use one of our standard single-piece casings, but for non-standard installations or retrofit projects, we also provide a range of ‘custom’ two-piece casings that allow a high degree of choice to meet the needs of virtually any boiler installation.”
Encasement boiler pipe casings are also available with an integral document wallet option, secured to the inside of the casing, which allows boiler operating instructions, service records and warranty information to be stored safely.
