The manufacturer behind the UK’s longest established pre-formed plywood decorative casing and pipe boxing brands, Xiloform, has changed its sales and distribution channel and is now being handled by Peterborough based Encasement Limited.
Xiloform’s wide range of pipe boxing and column casings are already well known in the UK, having originally been marketed for around 20 years by Alumasc Group brand Pendock Profiles.
As a result of this change, Pendock no longer has the rights to sell Xiloform’s products, as the sales, marketing, technical and product support functions, together with some product manufacturing and finishing, are now all under the dedicated resources of Encasement.
Encasement’s Managing Director, Martin Taylor, explained: “Although Pendock had helped establish their products, to progress further, Xiloform wanted to work with a more dedicated and focused company to have greater control of their distribution and marketing.
“Interestingly, when the word ‘Pendock’ is used in specifications for preformed plywood boiler casings, pipe boxing and column casings, companies should now actually be purchasing through Encasement to ensure the same original product quality and integrity is maintained on their projects.
“Our ‘Riva’ and ‘Versa’ pipe boxing brands now directly replace the original Pendock TK and MX products made by Xiloform and we are currently going through the FSC® ‘Chain of Custody’ certification process, which we’re confident we will achieve, giving us a competitive advantage, as well as a sustainable product range.
“Clearly, high product quality and reliability are key factors in our offer, but our market approach is considerably different. Whereas Pendock sold the products through regional distribution and merchants, which was a familiar channel for Alumasc building products, we are a direct supply business with the emphasis on keeping prices keenly competitive. Also we ensure the product range is easily accessible and supported by fast delivery.”
The pre-formed pipe boxing and boiler casing ranges, along with the Circa and Quadra column casings, are stocked at the company’s sales and distribution centre in Peterborough. All standard products are available ex-stock and on next day delivery, whilst a custom specification option is also available on all products to meet individual customer needs and project specifications.
Martin Taylor added: “Our approach is to make things as simple as possible for the specifier, customer and contractor by providing high quality products at competitive prices with a fast delivery and sound product knowledge. We have well over 15 years direct experience of dealing with pre-formed and pre-finished casing products, which has already met with an extremely positive response in terms of increasing orders and volumes of traffic on our website.”
