Encasement provides the inside story for Oakham bus station
A bright and spacious waiting room area at the recently upgraded Oakham Bus Station is using durable Vecta wall linings from Encasement to help create a comfortable, pleasant and ‘connected’ environment for passengers travelling in Rutland.
It is estimated that around 150,000 passenger bus journeys are made around the local area each year and the new bus station is part of the ‘Travel4Rutland’ project funded by the Department for Transport, which replaces the temporary facility used during the four-month-long construction process.
In addition to real-time bus information screens, refreshments and free Wi-Fi Internet connection, the waiting room’s interior design has been created to not only be functional but also highly durable to cope with the volume of passengers, which is one of the reasons why a Vecta wall lining system was chosen for the project.
Each of the individual wall panels is manufactured from 8mm thick compact laminate and are fixed to an aluminium and timber supporting framework, which allows precise positioning of the panels and allows them to be effectively secured while maintaining the contrasting ‘shadow’ gap design when installed.
Installed in just 5 working days by Encasement, the 2400mm high Vecta panels are finished in ‘Stone beige’ to integrate with the bus station’s interior colour scheme.
